Race Through London for Girls’ Education
Help put girls in rural Africa on the path to success by pulling on your running shoes for Camfed in the British 10K London Run on July 6th. The British 10K is a fantastic opportunity to join tens of thousands of recreational runners as they race through the heart of London, passing many famous landmarks along the way including Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament and St. Paul's Cathedral. The race has sold out for the past three years, but Camfed has 30 coveted places left for this year’s event. By registering to run for Camfed, you will be raising money to buy school shoes for girls in some of the poorest parts of rural Africa, ensuring that they are able to attend school.
Camfed will give you plenty of fundraising support along the way, including posters, leaflets, stories, pictures, fundraising tips and even instructions on how to set up your own personal fundraising web page. You could even persuade your colleagues to set up a team at your workplace so you can share the sense of achievement.
You don't have to be a top-class athlete to take part – just someone who enjoys running, and who is passionate about reducing poverty and giving girls in Africa a brighter future.
Over the last two years, runners have raised more than £17,000 for Camfed – enough to buy shoes for 2,266 girls who would otherwise not be able to go to school.
All we ask is that each runner raises at least £130, which will help to set 13 girls on the path to success.
